2 Years Old!

For those of you who use to actually follow our blog, we are still alive! I know a few of you might have been wondering...

So many things have happen since my last posting in June. The two biggest things that have happened to our family is 1. We found out that we are expecting a baby boy on March 7th and 2. Ashlyn turned 2 years old! Craig and I couldn't be more thrilled to add another little one to our family. Having Ashlyn in our lives has been so amazing and we honestly can't wait for this little guy to come.

Ashlyn turned two the first week in November and it still seems so crazy to me that I have a two year old! She definitely keeps us on our toes and makes life so much fun. She loves to dance in her princess dresses, "practice" the piano, and play with her toys. She also loves to play with "friends". She seems really excited about the new baby and will tell people that the baby is in mommy's belly. I don't think she really gets the concept having a new baby around, but she really loves to see babies and I'm hoping that is a good sign. I guess we will just have to wait and see!

Just because a post isn't a post without a few pictures...here are Ashlyn's two year old pictures. We got them taken at JCPenney's and I think they did a great job!

Summer Fun

Why is it that the summer season seems to go by so much quicker than all the other seasons? I have absolutely been loving having time off from teaching school and being able to spend more time with Ashlyn. It's crazy to think that as of next week, I've been off for summer break for a whole month. Where has the time gone?! The following pictures show some of the fun we have been having this summer.

NO MORE SCHOOL!!!!:)
Craig is officially done with school! He finished the four weeks of summer courses that he had to do and Ashlyn and I are so glad. It is nice to be able to spend more time together as a family without having the thoughts of homework, tests, or group projects in the back of our minds. These are a few pictures that were taken at a family barbeque we held to celebrate!

One excited and happy couple!

My parents and Craig

Craig, his brother Alex, his Uncle Eric, and his mom

Ashlyn "rough housing" with Uncle Alex. She loves to play with him and
actually asks for him by name.

Dawnette, Mike, and Alicia-Craig's cousins

Craig's Aunt Jenny and her daughter Meagan. Meagan is one day older than Ashlyn.

Craigs cute cousins-Rebecca, Sarah, and Amy

Willow Park Fun
The other day we decided to take Ashlyn to the Willow Park Zoo. She loved it! Good thing we live close by so we can go back again soon.

Snow cones are one of my favorite things about summer. I think my love of snow cones has definitely rubbed off on Ashlyn. :)

Fun with Dolls
Over the past few weeks Ashlyn has really developed a love for dolls or "babies" as she calls them. It is so fun to see her interact with the babies and even occasionally talk to them.

Ashlyn loves to have her babies sit and watch Barney with her. (over and over and over!)

Ashlyn taking her baby for a walk. She loves to do this!

Ashlyn putting her babies "night night". Who said laundry baskets are just for doing laundry?! Don't worry, we have since upgraded to a little bed and a nice wooden crib.

Craig's Birthday Party
Craig's birthday was on June 13th and we had a great time celebrating with our families. Even Ashlyn really got into the whole party thing which made it even more enjoyable.

Ashlyn loved helping me put the candles into Craig's birthday cake.

Ashlyn helping daddy blow out the candles.

I think Ashlyn opened more presents then Craig!

Ashlyn loved this present-a giant Batman ball from Craig's family.
My dad enjoyed playing catch with Ashlyn.

Random Fun

One day when it was really windy outside, Craig had Ashlyn take her little windmill outside. She loved watching it turn in circles really, really fast as the wind worked it's magic.

Matching toenails! Ashlyn's little toes looked so cute when I was done. This is the
first time I have dared try to paint them and it was definitely a wiggly adventure.
Thank goodness for nail polish remover!

Our summer so far has been a lot of fun! Stay tuned for more summer fun stories and pictures!

Pig Tails and Dress-Ups

This past week Ashlyn turned 19 months old! I can't believe how fast time flies. Some of Ashlyn's favorite things to do include: watching Barney, eating popsicles on the front step, going on walks, playing in her "house" (an outdoor playset), going to grandma's, and rough housing with daddy. She also really enjoys playing dress-up and loves her new "princess" outfit. Amazingly enough, she even loves to walk around the house in her high heels!

Ashlyn also loves to try on mommy's and daddy's shoes. She thinks she is pretty smart once she actually gets them on!

Ashlyn also loves to wear bracelets and bows and is quite often found telling people she is "pretty" or "cute". Her hair is also long enough to make the cutest little pig tails. I love doing her hair!

Ashlyn just seems to show more and more personality everyday. She is quite the talker and definitly lets us know exactly what she wants. She also has become quite the little tease and makes us laugh everyday. Ashlyn is definitely the joy of our lives and is such a blessing. We are so lucky to be her parents!
